Tackapausha Museum and Preserve is operated by the Nassau County Department of Recreation and Parks. An interesting selection of Long Island wildlife and their habitats are on display with special presentations focusing on various subjects. Accompanying the museum is a large preserve for splendid nature walks.

HOURS: open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

ADMISSION: Adults $3.00, Children ages 5-14 $2.00, Under age 5 Free
